Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Services

SEO is the process of optimizing your web pages so that search engines can quickly find out what your website is all about. There are so many articles and webmasters talk about SEO techniques, web design site promotion, seo content, link building, and so on. We know there are 2 types of optimization: on page optimization and off page optimization. Important things about on page Optimization are:

The page Title should include ONLY our main keywords. The least amount of words you use, the more weight Google will give to reach of the keywords and the higher you will rank. The body text is the text on your web page that can be seen by people in their web browsers. It does not include HTML commands, comments, etc. The more visible text there is on a web page, the more a search engine can index. The body text of a web page is very important to search engines. For a successful Search Engine Optimization approach, take into contemplation that search engines look at content and also at the structure of the markup. They accentuate the importance of text content, page titles, keywords rich text, Meta descriptions and information architecture. A website where quality of content and code prevail will rank higher in the major search engines. Content is the king. Search engines love bright and quality content, since that's what the users want - more new things to read every day and every hour. When your site changes often - search engine crawlers come back more often as well. Of course by generating new content you elevate the chance that more of your pages will be found. Get involved in communities relevant to the content of your site. Visit their forums and mailing lists, and help other people by answering their questions, posting links to your site if they contain information relevant to your replies. Usually you are allowed to have a signature, where you can link to your site.

Analyze your log files and see who refers to you the most. Try to find more similar sites. The referral information also reveals the keywords used to find your site. Often you find new keywords that you haven't thought of when targeting your site. By using those newly discovered keywords you can create more content that targets the unexpected traffic even better. Including links to social bookmaking services, like reddit.com, digg.com, del.icio.us, etc. (there are hundreds of those now and their number is growing) will allow your visitors to submit your site's links to those services in one click (e.g., see some of those at the end of this article). However most (all?) of those sites implement the link attribute. Do not include invisible text. One can create invisible text by choosing the font color which is the same as of the background, putting the text at the very bottom of the page, so that the visitor won't see it, and other ways. Pager as it was last crawled by Google. On the page, you will notice that the search term you were looking for is highlighted as many times as it appears in the page. Try many different key word phrases. You will see the same results over and over again. Search Yahoo and MSN and look at the cached results also. They have similar indexing characteristics. Take notes and see how it is done. You may be surprised how easy it is to get listed in the searches.

Does Google Really Hate SEO's?

After reading a couple of recent articles, some directly saying that Google hates SEO's and others being more stealthy in their aspersions, the question has to be asked. Does Google really hate SEO's?

Well in this authors humble opinion, No! Google does not hate SEO's, or at least search engine optimisation performed by ethical SEO companies - what would be the point?

Sure make life difficult for people trying to manipulate the search engine results, but in terms of hating an industry, I would have to draw the line short of that (although perhaps some of our less industrious spam-friendly friends may need their wings clipping somewhat).

To be brutally honest, I can see no reason for Google, or any other search engine, to hate SEO's. Search engine optimisation, I would suggest, is one of the key reasons why search engines have become as effective as they currently are in refining their results.

We search engine marketeers, at the end of the day, want our campaigns to work and rely heavily on a ROI focussed service. For this reason, all aspects of the marketing mix have to be working in synergy, so relevance and targeting are fundamental aspects of all our campaigns. Essentially, this is what Google wants - good quality, relevant results.

Google have also provided a wealth of tools, aimed at providing marketeers and potential marketeers with sufficient information to promote their sites - whether it be guidelines, webmaster tools, API access or blogs. Surely such activity is a clear indication of support and not a case of trying to minimise the effect of would be search engine marketeers.

Above all, most search engine marketing agencies don't just offer SEO, they offer paid search (PPC) as well. Surely if the search engines annoy these agencies by attacking SEO, they run the risk of affecting paid search spend. Google, Yahoo and MSN work very closely with agencies as regards their paid search campaigns, so it is logical to assume that to alienate the SEO activity of an agency would surely impact on paid search as well. Too much of a financial risk I would have thought!

Ultimately, the question "Does Google really hate SEO's?" boils down to one key factor. What commercial benefits could there possibly be in curtailing SEO activity?

How to Rake in 10000 Backlinks in a Week

Admit it. Everyone loves backlinks. With each new inbound link to your site, Google smiles at the vote of confidence. Your reputation subsequently increases, your search rankings skyrocket-- and with it, the number of web visitors to your site.

This translates to more clinking in the empty piggy bank. Sounds good? Let's get down to business.

For the average Joe, there are three boring ways to create inbound links.

The first is the most common: reciprocal linking. You fire an email to a related site and request an exchange of votes. It's tideous and webmasters tend to tell you to buzz off. Google doesn't give much value to such backlinks either-they deem such behavior self-serving.

The second way is to spam. Spamming blasts your links into many forums, blogs and directories. You can create almost 2000 backlinks with this method in a week. Ever got those viagra ads posted on your Honda fansite? The spammers probably thought triangular blue pill spin up your twinturbos more rapidly. You've just been spammed.

Finally, the third way is to create linkbait articles. Linkbait is a controversial writeup that compells other webmasters to link to your article. If the article is inflammatory, debatable or insulting, you can rake in nearly 10,000 backlinks a week after every Tom Dick and Harry dissect your atricle on their blogs. It's not always healthy for the ego.

These days, I no longer use such tired methods to rake in backlinks. I go for a lazier, faster way. I call it PDF Marketing.

FYI, a PDF is a document created by adobe acrobat. Link building using this method requires that you write a truly snazzy 3-4 page article that people would love. Impregnate every page of your article with links to your site. Compile it into a PDF document and upload it to free download sites. Take a glass of lemonade and sit back. That was the hard part. Pretty soon, freeloaders would pick up on the document. They'd enjoy it and post it on their sites. They'd buzz about it. More people would download it. Half of them will stick it into their webs. Then guess what? In a fortnight, you'd have thousands of sites hosting your PDF that links back to your web!

Here's the best part: Google would love you to bits from all that link love.

Can you already imagine your site tap dancing all the way to loftier search engine rankings?

The Dark Art Of Search Engine Optimization

The title of this article is designed to illustrate the point of this article. Today we won't be taking a look at black-hat search engine optimization tactics. Admittedly, I've toyed with them in a "know your enemy" kind of way but I'm no expert on advanced cloaking techniques nor effective link sp@mming tactics. What we're going to cover here are the hidden (i.e. dark) areas of effective optimization strategy.

I've written numerous times in past articles and blog posts that using tricks to rank your site highly is, in the end, ineffective as tricks imply a manipulation of the ranking formula and will eventually become obsolete as the search engines work to advance their algorithms and shut down such possible abuses.

But here I'm going to illustrate some of the tricks we use to drive traffic to our site. Is this a conflict? Not really; these "tricks" aren't so much directed at search engines as they are website owners and visitors. These are marketing tricks, not SEO tricks - they just happen to help you with your rankings. Before we begin let's review an important point about Google. When most people think of Google they think of the dominant search engine (and in that they would be right) HOWEVER if Google was primarily a search engine they would be much smaller than they are now.

No, they are an advertising company and the world's largest at that. To this end they need traffic, market share, and clicks. They need you to love Google.com, visit it often, visit their other properties and offerings such as Gmail. If you do this, the odds of you clicking on one of the paid ads increases and their primary function is fulfilled.

It is driven by this purpose that Google has developed the most complex search algorithm that has ever existed. Their search is their primary source of traffic. The better their results, the more you will return, the greater the likelihood you will click an ad, the more revenue they generate (thus leading to their continued increases in reported revenue quarter-after-quarter). Why is this important?

Because this is the driving force of their current algorithm and will be for the foreseeable future we can assume that any action that increases relevant traffic to your site, increases the stickiness of your site and/or increases the number of links from relevant sites to yours will help your rankings and it will help Google keep their visitors loyal.

Let's also recall the purpose of this article. This is NOT an article about black-hat search engine optimization tactics, it's about the hidden aspects of SEO that are often overlooked. And so, without further ado, let's get down to the meat - what are the dark tactics that you can use to boost your website rankings.Building A Sticky Site

A point I've made in past articles that I will reinforce here as opposed to "contradicting" will be that of the importance of a sticky site. Of course, monitoring your statistics to assess your visitors' behavior is an important practice for the conversions on your site however it's importance from a search engine optimization perspective is often overlooked. I've mentioned before and I'll mention again, the search engines have the ability to monitor the length of time a visitor spends between visits to that engine.

If you are on Google, enter "seo services" into it and visit the Beanstalk site but only spend 5 seconds there before hitting the back button Google can infer that the site was not what you were looking for. If it was 5 or 10 minutes before you returned back to Google they could thus infer that you found content you found useful to your query.

So let's put that more obviously, having a site on which visitors find what they're looking for quickly, easily, and in a visually pleasing way will increase their time on your site which will thus increase the assumption by the search engines that you are relevant for the phrase the searcher has queried.

This will reinforce that your site does indeed belong among the top site. As a disclaimer: this works on a mass scale so don't go running off and clicking through to you competitors and quickly hitting the back button. First, it's unethical (like clicking their paid links) and second, it doesn't work like that (how big a hole would THAT be in the algorithm) so it would only be a waste of your time.

The how to of building a sticky site I will leave to designers (being an SEO - my skills lie more in understanding mathematical formula).

Clickability Counts
The engines know when your site appears in a set of search results and they further know how often your site was click on when it appeared. The more often your site is selected when presented in a set of results the more relevant it is assumed to be and thus, the more entrenched it becomes in that set of results (assuming your stickiness issues are dealt with).

What this means is that your title and description matter, not just as part of the classical search engine optimization tactics we've used them for since the 90's but also to draw visitors to your site. Fortunately the end goal of the engines closely matches what your own end goal should be for your site - maximizing traffic. Let's take a look at two example titles that the Beanstalk site could have:

An old-school over-optimized title: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Services Company | Beanstalk Search Engine Positioning | SEO Services, Internet Marketing, Link Building, Consulting, Training & Copywriting

Our current title: Expert SEO Services by Beanstalk

Can you see the different? While our title changes periodically as we test new titles for clickthroughs we always keep it short, easily read, and always such that the whole title will appear in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Our clickthroughs are much higher with shorter titles than longer and we have seen the same results with client sites. The same applies to your description tag but the rules are a bit different. With your description tag you want to make sure to include your targeted keywords and make the copy compelling to a searcher. The reason for this is that when searched keywords are including in your description, is is typically the description that appears in the SERPs. This give you an opportunity to determine how your ad to the world appears.

You write your title, you write your description - write both well and your clickthroughs will increase. And when your clickthroughs go up, the implied relevancy the engines will assume your site has to that phrase will increase with it and thus, so too will your rankings for that phrase.

Getting People To Link To You
We're not going to bother discussing reciprocal link building, directory submissions or the other usual suspects. There are countless articles out there on those topics; what we're going to focus on here are the tactics for getting articles picked up widely the resources you want to get them onto (and if you're reading this - you know it works) as well as ways to get the links that both you and the search engines will love the most - the ones you don't ask for or work for outside of creating a great site with useful content. The best part of these links is that they not only work to boost your link popularity but they also tend to drive great traffic to your site. Let's begin with articles. When you're working to publish an article there are two main audience members: the readers and, more importantly, the editors (I say more importantly as they're the ones that determine if you have any readers at all). There are some tactics for increasing both:

  1. Write a compelling title. This gets back to the point I was making in the first paragraph. Everyone is interested in black hat search engine optimization, even those of us who don't practice it. Readers will be drawn to it as it receives relatively low coverage and editors like to publishing something that they feel may draw some controversy. While this article doesn't get into black hat tactics as some editors may have hoped, it will draw them in and get their attention.

  2. Find quality related resources and get the article published there. I generally use a tool like PR Prowler to find good, quality resources to submit articles to. You can do it manually through a search engine, PR Prowler just speeds up the process so much that after its first use it's paid for itself. You want the places you submit to, to be related to your industry and you want them to provide a link back. If you can setup that link as anchor text instead of your URL - all the better.

  3. Keep a list and add to it. If you're going to publish multiple articles don't start from scratch every time. Keep a list and try to add a few sites to it with each submission. This will keep your list growing and get you more exposure/links as time goes on.

  4. Keep a good relationship with the editors. They are the end-all-be-all of whether this tactic will work or not as a link and traffic building tactic. Make sure you're polite and don't write nasty emails if you get declined. Read what they say and make sure to take it into account with future articles.

But what if you don't want to build links with articles, what if you want to get links the old fashioned way (and I'm talking about the old old old way - you know, before there was any SEO value to it). What if you would like to get people to link to you simply because they like your content (I know, shocking but it actually happens !!!) There are a few different factors that you need to take into account to accomplish this. Here are a few important rules to follow:

  1. You'll need to create content that others will want to link to. This is an art in-and-of-itself. I wrote about some of the basic rules involved with this in a past article "Building Link Bait" and so I won't repeat it here.

  2. Get the bait into social bookmarking sites. This will get people interested in your topic aware of it. If it's good, they may link to it. Don't just focus on Digg and the other majors, look around for some industry-specific bookmarking sites. For example, when this article is complete I'll work to get it into Sphinn, an SEO bookmarking site.

  3. Get the bait into forums and/or blogs. I'm not talking about blog sp@mming here, I'm talking about finding blogs and forums that are RELATED to your topic and who's visitors could be genuinely helped by the tool, information, etc. that you're providing. Don't worry if the blog has rel="nofollow" on the links. The purpose is webmaster awareness, not getting links from the blogs (I'll leave that to a different article).

  4. Promote the bait on your site. Use banners, links, your blog, etc. to build awareness.

  5. Provide the code to link to your bait. The easier you make it for people to link to you, the more of them will. Provide the code with a text and banner option and you'll increase the number of people who will link to you.

  6. Put out a press release. If it's big enough news, put out a press release. If the media grabs it you've won the lottery both in publicity and in high valued links.

  7. If the topic of your bait is searched on the engines, rank it. :)

Conclusion
So these are the darker arts we're talking about. Not black-hat, just overlooked more often than not. Add these to your repertoire of thoughts as you optimize and link building for your site and you've given yourself a one-up over most if not all of your competition.

Increasing Link Popularity

Search engines are the gateway to the Internet; they are the first tool that potential customers use to find the products and services they need. This is why link popularity is so imperative. If the customers do not find your website, you have no possibilities of making any sales.

You're probably wondering what the blazes is popular about a link! Well, in a word - plenty! Link popularity refers to the ranking assigned to your website by the search engines, and it determines the ranking your page gets when keywords are entered into a search engine. So, you're probably wondering, how do I make my link popular?

Search engines are discretionary, giving status and ranking to sites that have links to their pages from related, quality sites. It's a simple formula, but a very important one. Google created the system, and now virtually all the most popular search engines employ it to rank your web pages in their indexes.

The more commonly used your keyword is, the harder it will be to achieve link popularity, but without achieving this step, it is almost certain your site will never rank highly on any search engine. But don't be discouraged; there are tried and true ways of achieving link popularity using the most competitive keywords.

There are a few things you should be aware of. The first is that just linking up with a large number of other websites will not achieve link popularity. In fact, it may have quite the opposite effect. This is particularly true when pertaining to websites that are nothing more than "link
farms" - pages containing line after line of indiscriminate links. Search engines may aggressively discriminate against your website if you are associated with a link farm, so steer clear of them!

The next thing to bear in mind is the quality of the site you are linking to. Never link to a page you have reservations about your visitors seeing. The last thing you want your website to appear as is indiscriminate and cheap. Linking to sites of poor quality will only lessen your link
popularity, if not completely destroy it.

So let's get to what you need to do to achieve supreme link popularity and improve your rankings to stellar status on all the popular search engines.

The first step, and the fastest way to get your foot in the door, is to get a listing in a popular directory, such as Open Directory Project and Yahoo. If your site is business-related, you will want to be listed on Yahoo, and despite the fact that it will cost you around $300 a year, it will be money well spent. If your site is non-commercial, the listing will be free, but it will take time and follow-up to actually get it listed. Open Directory is gives you a free listing whether you are
business-related or non-commercial, but be prepared to make a lot of follow-up inquiries before you see your site listed.

You are aiming to get listed in the highest level of appropriate category, and this just takes some common sense. For example, if your company ships Alpaca wool from an Alpaca farm located in the middle of Nowhere, Tiny State, do NOT submit your listing to "Retailers from Nowhere, Tiny State." BIG MISTAKE! All you have to do is look a little deeper - and submit your listing to the "Fine Alpaca Wool" category. You will not only associate yourself with culture and quality, but you will be listed in a national category.

The next step after you have attained directory listings is to locate other quality sites that will increase your link popularity. Try to find sites that are in some way related to yours, so not only will your link popularity increase, but your customer base may also be expanded. You want to avoid your competitors and look for sites that are useful to your site's visitors. Let's look at the Alpaca Wool site example. Linking up to a site that sells knitting suppliesn would be helpful to your visitors, and the chances of the knitting supply site wanting to link up to your site are also greater. By linking to a related site that will be relevant to your website's traffic, you are increasing both of your site's business prospects - and both of your sites' link popularity.

Not all sites want to link to other sites, so you will have to do some research when you are looking for possible linking partners. Google is an excellent starting place for your search. Make sure you enter keywords that you think quality customers will also enter to find your own site.
Remember, your criteria are quality, highly ranked, non-competing websites that have a links or resources page. Go to these sites and objectively assess them. Look at the quality of the product, the graphics, and the ease of use. Then check out the other sites they are linked to, and
determine if your own site would fit in with the crowd.

When you decide you have found a good prospect, you must set out to woo them. The first thing to do is to add a link on your own links page to their site. This is an essential first step; it shows good faith, and ups your chances significantly of their reciprocity. After you have added their link, you must contact the webmaster of their site. Since this is almost always done by email, you want to make sure it is immediately clear that your message is not junk mail. This requires that you tell them right off the bat that you have added a link to their page on your site. A hook like this almost always insures the reader will read on.

Next, be sure to be flattering and let them know how much you appreciate their website. Make sure you emphasize that you have actually visited their site, and that their site is not just a random pick. Give them the address of your links page, and ask them to check out the link for themselves. It's a good idea to mention that they will not only benefit from the increased traffic your website will direct their way, but you will also increase their link popularity. Briefly, explain why link popularity is so essential, but do this in a sentence or two so you don't sound like a professor! Finally, tell them you would greatly appreciate if they would reciprocally add a link on
their own links page to your website.

Go through this process with as many appropriate sites as you can find, bearing in mind the criteria of quality and non-competitiveness. After you have emailed all relevant sites, be sure to check these website frequently to see if they have added a link to your page. Give it about a month, and if no link appears, try another charming email. Then give it another month, and if your site is still absent from their links page, it's time to remove their link from your own links page. The only time you want to pursue a link further than this is if you believe a site is crucial
to your link popularity and your business needs. Just remember to keep all your communications complimentary and cordial.

Then set up a schedule to check your ranking in search engines frequently to see if your link popularity has improved. This is not achievable in the blink of an eye. It will take some time and a good deal of work. There is no way around the labor-intensive quality of improving your
link popularity, which is why search engines regard it with such importance.

By the way - make sure you have a beautiful, streamlined site or you will never persuade anyone to link up to you. Be prepared to keep plugging away at this process, as long
as it takes, until you achieve link popularity stardom!

How to Increase Traffic to your Site

The process of advertising and marketing products and services online is commonly referred to as Internet marketing. Popular modes of online marketing include Search Engine Marketing (SEM), affiliate advertising, email marketing, banners, blogs, interactive advertising, and information articles.

SEM is the largest subsection of the marketing strategy pool. It seeks to boost the visibility of a website on a search engine and thus garner more traffic onto the site. The tools of SEM are search engine optimization (SEO), pay per click marketing and paid listing.

SEO allows marketers to improve the quantity and quality of the search engine rankings or ‘hits’ by optimizing the site structure and content for easy identification by relevant searches performed by search engines and people. The idea is to be able to reach your website’s target market by using the correct set of optimization tools to be listed on the appropriate searches and on the right search engines. Some common ways to achieve SEO:

  • Keyword basics – Selecting relevant, widely used keyword sets and making certain that the number of times these keywords appear in the content ensures a good search engine ranking. This is known as keyword density or saturation SEO, and the belief is that when search engines ‘spider’ or scan through content on a site, they look for a certain percentage of keyword density (say 2-5%).

  • Website architecture – A clear, understandable structure and a site map may encourage search engines and people to spider or scan the site effectively and easily.

  • Link Strategies – A marketer can create links that point towards the page, also known as ‘inbound links’ that should be relevant, keyword-oriented and plentiful to direct traffic towards the web page and improve its search engine rank.

  • Optimized content – Well-organized and grouped content and reduced graphics for quick loading time is said to be another subset of criteria for SEO.

  • Though algorithms used for search engine rankings vary, are kept secret and are said to keep changing, an SEO consultant can apply some to your site based on experience and analysis.
Pay per click (PPC) advertising or sponsored searches are sites or pages that are displayed in search engine results pages, which the advertiser pays to have displayed. Some of the major search engines such as Google will display these separately from the ‘organic’ or SEO-based pages. The marketer only pays when the link is clicked on, hence the name ‘pay per click’.

A hybrid of SEO and PPC is paid listings. The advertiser pays a fee that ensures the website is listed in the organic search results but does not promise the ranking or placement.

Email advertising is an instant, low cost way to reach your customer and build awareness of your product or services. It can also result in conversion in the form of requests for information or customer acquisition. According to the Direct Marketing Association, businesses in the US spent $400 million on email marketing in 2006. It entails advertising to past, present and potential customers via email and experts claim that it ranks next only to SEM in efficacy.

Banner ads, blogs and informative articles are a part of Internet marketing that help to create awareness and link to related services or products. Websites sell ad space for this purpose.

Affiliate advertising works like the finder’s fee concept – the affiliate is paid for every visitor or customer. Certain sectors are expected to benefit more than other by affiliate marketing – finance, retail, travel and gambling. There exist networks or intermediaries that offer this service.

Interactive marketing is a sophisticated use of technology to set up a dialogue with potential customers in an effort to persuade them to buy the product or service. Viral marketing is one of the most popular instances, and it implies the use of links, video clips etc sent out via email to be forwarded on from one person to another. There are specialized companies that undertake interactive advertising, other than major advertisers.

Overall, there are a number of ways to increase traffic to your website and you simply need to select the best fit for you. Create an effective, relevant marketing strategy involving these methods to aggressively push your product.

Are You Having A Hard Time Getting Traffic To Your New Website?

The biggest question site owners are asking these days is "how do I get traffic?" It is definitely much harder with the growth spurt of the Internet, however it's not impossible!
There are TONS of ways to build up your traffic. Here are some of the most common methods.

  1. Learn Search Engine Optimization - this is probably the most important way that you want to get traffic and probably the hardest too. Search engine traffic is highly targetted traffic of people who are searching the web for a specific item. If they get to your site after searching for it, you're almost guaranteed a sale or at least a "bookmark for later". lot of ebooks on the subject

  2. Trade links with other sites - It's important to get your site name out there. So trade links with several other sites, even your competitors! People really do look at those links pages and they will find their way to your site from another site.

  3. Post on message boards - When you post on highly trafficked message boards, BE SURE to put your site link in your signature! This is a highly effective form of marketing, especially if the message board you are posting at is relative to your site content.

  4. Use email signatures - Make it easy for your customers to contact you! When they write to you and ask for more information, be sure that you are using a signature with your site URL and name inside of it. That way if they want to retrieve it later, it's easier for them than having to memorize your URL and open a web browser.

  5. Join Yahoo Groups - This is pretty much the same as message boards. Join groups that pertain to your site's content and advertise (but don't spam!!) your site there.

  6. Post on free classifieds sites - Sites like Craig's List or other free advertising classifieds sites will accept your site for free! Just do a Google search for "free classifieds" and you'll see a ton of sites come up where you can promote your site!

  7. Buy ad space - If your monthly budget allows, you can buy some ad space for your site. Find another site that pertains to your site's content and ask them what their advertising prices are.

  8. Hold auctions - Ebay gets TONS of traffic a day, while you're not allowed to post your site URL within your auction listings, you are allowed to put it in your "about me" page. So think about listing some of your products as auctions and advertise your URL.

  9. Offline advertising - Get custom t-shirts, bumper stickers, car decals, etc made for your site URL. Then whenever you are out in public, you are passively advertising yourself!

  10. Submit your site to directories - If your site is a site about "fishing" for instance, do a Google search for "fishing directories" and see how many directories are out there that pertain to your subject matter. Most of these directories will allow free submissions.

  11. Write articles - Writing articles that pertain to your site is another excellent way to get your site out there. Just write a short, informative article of 5-6 paragraphs and submit it to any site that accepts article submissions and make sure that your article includes a link back to your site in your "author biography".

  12. Submit press releases - Even if your site is a small work from home site(i.e. "Susie's Candles") it IS newsworthy! Let's say your candle site released a new candle called "Vanilla Cream". Submit a press release about it, I'm serious!! A good place to start is called http://www.prweb.com Or you can do a Google search for "submit press release" and a zillion other sites will come up.

  13. Have great interactive content - People will bookmark your site if you have interactive and dynamic content. Have polls, message boards, interactive games, news items, guest books, item of the day....whatever! Just make the site relevant and have good SUBSTANCE in your site content. Don't overload it with silly animated graphics, sounds, etc. That just makes it look like you had nothing else to fill your site up with but this annoying stuff. And Flash intros are only good if you are two years old and need to see flashing lights and colors. Most of all they are slow loading, and people generally click away if they see Flash.
